391. Deputy Nicky McFadden asked the Minister for Social Protection when the plus one initiative will come into effect in place of Revenue job assist; if she will outline the details and eligibility for the new initiative; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5811/13]
View answerOne of the disruptive reforms under the Action Plan for Jobs suggests that the existing employer job PRSI exemption and Revenue job assist schemes be replaced by a single scheme which is simplified, easier to administer and targeted at the long term unemployed. Senior officials in my Department, in conjunction with colleagues from other relevant Departments, are engaged in on-going discussions on proposals for consideration by Government. I expect these proposals to be finalised shortly.
