647. Deputy Seán Kenny asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of gardaí by rank attached to community policing in the Garda R district in each of the past three years; if he plans to increase the number; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5510/13]
View answerI am informed by the Garda authorities that the personnel strength of the Community Policing Unit attached to the R Garda District on 31 December 2010 - 31 December 2012 was as set out in the table below.
The allocation of all resources, including personnel, is a matter entirely for the Garda Commissioner in consultation with his senior management and I have no direct function in the matter.
