373. Deputy Jack Wall asked the Minister for Social Protection the position regarding an appeal in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6880/13]

This application for carer's allowance for the person concerned was awarded on the 23rd of August 2012 at the rate of €151.30 per week from 13th of October 2011. The person in question was assessed with weekly means of €89.10 per week. The person concerned has appealed this decision. All relevant papers have been prepared and will be sent to the Social Welfare Appeals Office (SWAO) today. The SWAO, in due course, will be in touch with the person in question regarding the progress of the appeal.
