216. Deputy Seán Kenny asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will confirm that she has received an appeal against the refusal of carer’s allowance in respect of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 17; and when this appeal will be decided. [7877/13]

I am advised by the Social Welfare Appeals Office that no appeal has been received by that office in respect of the person concerned.

The Social Welfare Appeals Office functions independently of the Minister for Social Protection and of the Department and is responsible for determining appeals against decisions on social welfare entitlements.
