A comprehensive range of new water services infrastructure has been approved for County Mayo in my Department’s Water Services Investment Programme 2010 – 2013, a copy of which is available in the Oireachtas Library. The total value of contracts underway and those proposed for commencement during the period of the Programme in County Mayo is over €71 million.

The Lough Conn / East Mayo Regional Water Supply Scheme, which includes the areas of Foxford, Swinford, Charlestown, Kilkelly and Knock Airport, is included among the schemes to advance through planning during the period of the Programme. My Department recently approved Mayo County Council’s brief for the engagement of a consulting engineer to prepare a feasibility study for the Lough Conn / East Mayo Regional Water Supply Scheme.
