229. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Education and Skills his plans to reform the student grant application process for applicants including the internal workflow management processes used when dealing with applications and students in view of the problems incurred by applicants in interacting with the process in the 2012-13 cohort; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An external review of Student Universal Support Ireland's business processes is currently underway. This will inform improvements in the system for the 2013/14 academic year. The proposed timeline for completion of the review is March 2013.
