Questions (236)

James Bannon

Question:

236. Deputy James Bannon asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will review the refusal to pass a minibus for use as a taxi in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Longford on the grounds of the quality of the windscreen, although this had been approved by the Department when they purchased the vehicle and the factory fitted glass had subsequently had no alteration in any respect; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The regulation of the small public service vehicle (SPSV) industry, including vehicle standards, is a matter for the NTA under the Public Transport Regulation Act, 2009.  I have referred your question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within 10 working days.
