Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the full cost of ministerial transport and the breakdown of this cost between salaries, mileage allowance and other travel costs for Ministers and Ministers of State in his Department for 2012; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In line with Government policy, I do not use a State car. My Department employs two civilian drivers for driving duties in my own car in line with approved arrangements, and their salary and subsistence costs, together with the mileage costs paid to me in 2012 are set out in the following Table. The Table also sets out similar costs for the Minister of State Jan O’Sullivan for 2012.
