166. Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will consider introducing a scheme to provide loans to low income families for the replacement of windows; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15842/13]
View answerLocal authorities have powers, under section 11 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992 to make available housing loans for, inter alia, the construction or acquisition of houses. However, there is no scheme for making loans for the replacement of windows and I have no plans to introduce such a scheme.
