The correspondence referred to was addressed to the Chairperson of the Irish Red Cross Society and, whilst I was provided with a copy, I am satisfied that its contents are entirely a matter for the Society itself. I welcome the significant progress that the Society has made in reforming its financial and accounting procedures over the past two years and I am satisfied that the annual grant paid to the Society by my Department is used for its intended purposes and is properly accounted for.
