Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government when he will approve the proposed new allocations scheme for Dublin City Council's housing department in order to facilitate Dublin City Council to move away from a points based system to a time on the list system; the date on which this new system will come into operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under section 22 of the Housing (scellaneous Provisions) Act 2009, which came into operation on 14 June 2010, the making and amendment of an allocation scheme for social housing is a reserved function of the elected members of each housing authority.
