216. Deputy Andrew Doyle asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if she will outline the details of any bilateral agreements with Mexico for inter-country adoption; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20955/13]

Mexico has ratified the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption. As such, no bilateral agreement is necessary. The Adoption Authority has advised that the National Central Authority in Mexico has indicated its willingness to accept dossiers from the Adoption Authority.
