637. Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Health his Department's estimate of the number of persons here who suffer from asthma; the number of these who are covered by a medical card; the way these figures have been determined; and if it is possible to derive an accurate estimate from PCRS data. The HSE Primary Care Reimbursement Service has advised that it does not currently collect information regarding an applicant's illness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide the Deputy with the information requested.
