578. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine in view of the fact that livestock export is vital at present, if the live export to Libya is still open; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23973/13]

The Libyan market remains open to Irish male cattle under 24 months and two shipments have been exported so far this year.

Continued trade with Libya is a commercial matter, but there is no impediment as regards animal health or transport requirements.
