Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the number of agricultural inspectors and assistant agricultural inspectors employed by the Department at present; the number of vacancies to be filled at present; the number of new vacancies likely to arise at each grade before the end of the year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. At present my Department employs 83 Agricultural Inspectors and 104 Assistant Agricultural Inspectors. There are currently 7 entry level vacancies at Assistant Agricultural Inspector.
