601. Deputy Gerry Adams asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs when the amendment to the Constitution in relation to children's rights will take effect; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [25386/13]

The Thirty-First Amendment of the Constitution (Children) Bill 2012 is currently the subject of a legal challenge. Judgment in this matter was reserved by the High Court on 16 May last. The outcome of these legal proceedings will determine the time frame for the enactment of this legislation.
