View answerThe person concerned recently applied for a review of a decision by a designated person to refuse an exceptional needs payment. The review officer was aware of the family composition of the person concerned at the time of the review. The person concerned previously appealed to the Social Welfare Appeals Office a decision of a designated person to refuse a diet supplement. The means calculation for the diet supplement was based upon a percentage of the personal rate of income of the applicant. The family composition of the person concerned is not a factor in determining whether an entitlement to a diet supplement exists. The appeal was disallowed.
