267. Deputy Billy Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding a school (details supplied) in County Wicklow. [27015/13]
View answerAs the Deputy will be aware a new 3 classroom school building was constructed in 2010 for the school to which he refers using public funds. At the time, payment of a local contribution of €63,000 was required for projects of this nature. My Department has been in discussion with the school authority regarding payment of this local contribution and finalisation of the relevant account. The options available to the school authority are to pay the local contribution of €63,000 or alternatively to transfer the ownership of the current school site and building to me. The school authority is currently considering these options and a response is awaited.
