Deputy Patrick O'Donovan asked the Minister for Health when he expects to bring forward legislation to allow for the introduction of minimum standards, inspection scheduling, mandatory training requirements, reporting procedures, to cover public and private providers of care for elderly persons and vulnerable adults in their own homes; his views on whether a regime of this nature is needed and warranted to protect elderly persons and vulnerable adults from potential abuses; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
