245. Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he remains committed to the A5 project and will provide specified funding to the route despite the Northern Ireland Executive discussing the diversion of funds set aside for the A5 to other road projects in Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Government's commitment to the A5 project, as outlined at the North South Ministerial Council in November 2011 remains in place. At that NSMC plenary session it was noted that the Irish Government would provide £25 million in 2015 and again in 2016 towards the A5 road project.  This is further to the £22 million that the Irish Government has already contributed to the project as part of the planning process.
