184. Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the number of staff in his Department who availed of term time in 2012; the average duration of such in 2012; the number that will do so in 2013; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In 2012, 57 staff members availed of special unpaid leave under the Shorter Working Year scheme (formerly term-time); the average duration of leave was 6 weeks. To date in 2013, my Department has approved 56 applications under the scheme.
