405. Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht his plans to enhance Dublin's stature as a UNESCO City of Literature; if he has advanced proposals to ensure the former Houses of Parliament on College Green are continually available for arts and cultural events; if he has assessed the viability of these plans; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht

Dublin City Council is the body responsible for the programme under UNESCO City of Literature and my Department contributes annual funding towards that programme. As I have indicated in previous replies I have been in dialogue with the Bank of Ireland in relation to the College Green Branch, the former Parliament Building and that will continue.
