481. Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will approve an application by Westmeath County Council to upgrade the waste water treatment in Athlone as a priority; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [36662/13]
View answerThe Athlone Sewerage Scheme is included in my Department’s Water Services Investment Programme 2010 – 2013 as a scheme to start and is made up of several contracts, including a contract for the upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant.
Westmeath County Council have submitted a project inception report to my Department and this is currently under consideration.
