1686. Deputy Dara Murphy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the best available figure or estimate of the number of cars on the road without an NCT; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [38513/13]
View answerIt is not possible to provide an estimated figure of the number of cars on the road without an NCT as statistics of this nature are not maintained. The RSA retain records of vehicles that previously underwent the NCT process and the next testing dates but there are no accurate records of vehicles that may no longer be on the roads since last tested.
