Officials in my Department have confirmed with Student Universal Support Ireland that in the case of the student referred to by the Deputy, there is no record of the student having made an application under the Student Grant Scheme. The Deputy will appreciate that in the absence of all the details that would be contained in an individual application, it would not be possible to say whether a student would be eligible for funding under the Student Grant Scheme. In order to be assessed under the Student Grant Scheme, the student should complete an online application form and submit to SUSI, which is still accepting late applications. In order to be eligible for a grant, a student must meet certain criteria under nationality, residency, progression and means as set out in the Student Grant Scheme 2013.

Question No. 108 withdrawn.
