186. Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Finance if he has had any contact with Permanent TSB or employee representatives regarding the closure of the bank's defined benefit pension scheme; the current position on the issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42409/13]
View answerAs I have outlined to the Deputy previously the pension arrangements of Permanent TSB employees are a matter for the management of that company and the Trustees of the relevant pension schemes. As the Deputy would appreciate my department is engaged in regular contact with Permanent TSB and the defined benefit pension schemes at that institution are one of many topics which have arisen in such discussions. I can also inform the Deputy that officials in my department recently met with a number of Trustees of one of Permanent TSB’s defined benefit pension schemes.
