505. Deputy Paul J. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason a disadvantaged areas scheme payment in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Galway was not granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42467/13]
View answerAn application under the 2013 Disadvantaged Areas Scheme was received from the person named on 14 May 2013; this application was fully processed and cleared for payment. However, as the person named had outstanding debts under the Agri Environment Options Scheme, payment under the Disadvantaged Areas Scheme was offset against this debt. The person named had previously been notified directly of the amount due under AEOS.
