Deputy Patrick Nulty asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the work Irish Water is carrying out to alter domestic water supply connections; the reason 15 mm fittings are being replaced with 25 mm fittings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Water Services Act 2013 designated Irish Water as the metering authority. The technical specification of fittings being used in the metering programme is an operational matter for Irish Water and I have no role in the matter.
