721. Deputy Jim Daly asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the number of the new municipalities that will replace three or more town councils; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [46961/13]
View answerThe recommendations contained in the Local Electoral Area Boundary Committee Report, which was published in May 2013, will provide the basis for the configuration of municipal districts. Districts will be determined by ministerial order in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act 2001 which are due to be amended by the Local Government Bill 2013, when enacted. Pending finalisation of the necessary orders, it would not possible to provide data in relation to the information sought.
