157. Deputy Finian McGrath asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if a foreign national would have grounds for a change of immigration status if there was a police record of a threat to their life in their original home country. [49923/13]

It is not possible to answer the Deputy's question in a meaningful manner in the absence of more details as to the circumstances of the case. In any event it would not be advisable to speculate on the significance, if any, of a particular element in any consideration of a potential application for a change of status by the person concerned.
