Questions (96)

Olivia Mitchell

Question:

96. Deputy Olivia Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Skills if a school (details supplied) in Dublin 6 will be accepting two junior infant classes in September 2014, as confirmation of places have only gone out to parents in the first stream, a fact that is causing concern to those on the waiting list; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Officials in my Department are aware of the situation at the school to which the Deputy refers in Dublin 16 and will be meeting with school authorities shortly to discuss same. However, my Department's main responsibility is to ensure that schools in an area can, between them, cater for all pupils seeking school places in the area.
