78. Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Finance if he will set out on a county basis the number of homes identified by the National Asset Management Agency as suitable for social housing; the number of homes which have been accepted by local authorities and agencies for such purposes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The details sought by the Deputy are set out below. The Deputy will be aware that it is a matter for each local authority to determine, by reference to the relevant housing and planning policy, demand for the properties made available by NAMA for social housing. NAMA has no role in this process but where demand is confirmed and the contract for purchase or lease is entered into, NAMA makes the properties available as soon as is possible.
