The establishment of a school Governing Body is a matter for the school patron. However, the Governing Authority in question was established under the Education and Training Board Act 2013 with the consent of the Minister. The Membership is as follows:

- Independent Chair - John Malone, former Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture

- Secretary Board of Management Maynooth Post-Primary School - Johnny Nevin,

- Principal of Maynooth Post-Primary School

- Acting Secretary Board of Management Maynooth Community College

- Patricia O'Brien, Education Support Officer ETB and School Principal

- A member of ETB elected by parents and representing Maynooth Post-Primary School Board of Management

- Teresa Murray, Primary Teacher

- A member of ETB elected by Staff and representing Maynooth Post Primary School Board of Management

- John McDonagh, Post-Primary Teacher

- A member of ETB elected by staff in the ETB scheme representing Maynooth Community College Board of Management

- Angela Doherty, Guidance Counsellor

- A member of ETB elected by parents of students in the ETB scheme representing Maynooth Community College Board of Management

- Ger McDonagh, Post-Primary Teacher

- A member of ETB who is a former Post-Primary school Principal

- Moya Prunty

- Cllr. John McGinley representing the ETB

The Acting Secretary of the Board of Management of Maynooth Community College, the parents representative and the staff representative are elected ETB Members and they were nominated by the ETB on an interim basis pending the appointment of staff to the new school and the actual enrolment of pupils. As the Deputy can see, all members have significant expertise in both the management and operation of educational institutions or in the area of public or civil service governance. There is no remuneration paid to Governing Authority Members and there are no deductions from the individual school budgets nor will there be any such deductions.
