420. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the extent to which agency staff have been used in his Department in each of the past five years to date for the purpose of answering and transferring calls on their switchdesk; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy will be aware, my Department was established on 2 June 2011 and therefore the available information is being provided from that date. I am advised by my Department that agency staff provided switch cover in one location from 2 June 2011 until 11 December 2012. All switch duties are now performed by departmental staff.
