430. Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will, in respect of her Department's audit committee, provide details of its current membership; the date of appointment of each member; the fees paid to each member; if members of the committee are required to hold certain professional qualifications; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department, as part of its overall governance systems has an Audit Committee which operates under a written charter (or rules). There are currently five members, three of whom are external to the Department. One of the external members is chairperson to the committee. Members are not required to hold a professional qualification but in line with the recommendations of the Mullarkey Report must have appropriate experience. The committee has members with financial/audit qualifications and experience. Details of members are:
