Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Education and Skills his plans for a vacant school building (details supplied) in County Mayo; the amount of money spent on maintaining this building in 2011 to 2013, inclusive; if he will give consideration to a proposal from the local community to use the building for community-based activity; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerThe property to which the Deputy refers is in the ownership of Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB) and as such any proposals in relation to the use of the building are a matter for MSLETB. MSLETB as owners are responsible for the maintenance of the building. The records maintained by MSLETB show that the amounts paid for maintenance in the years specified were as follows:
