The Irish Sports Council, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the promotion, development and co-ordination of sport, including the development of strategies for increasing participation in sport. The Council also has responsibility for the allocation of funding to the National Governing Bodies of Sport.

As the Deputy’s question is a matter for the Irish Sports Council, I have referred it to the Council for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to inform my office if a reply is not received within 10 days.

Question No. 129 answered with Question No. 114.
