View answerAs the Deputy will be aware the Further Education and Training Sector is undergoing major structural reform with the establishment of SOLAS and the Education and Training Boards. SOLAS is currently in the process of developing an integrated Further Education & Training Services Plan for 2014 with the full co-operation and participation of the Education & Training Boards. This plan is due to be completed by the end of March. I am informed that as at the end of December 2013, 18,770 individuals were participating on former FÁS Training Programmes, including evening and online programmes and programmes for those in employment. 56,010 completed former FÁS training programmes in 2013.
