466. Deputy Brian Stanley asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government his Department's response to Westmeath County Council's establishment of minimum setback distances for wind turbines; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9187/14]
View answerI wrote to the County Manager, Westmeath County Council on 15 February 2014 giving notice that I am considering issuing a direction pursuant to Section 31 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) in relation to the provisions on minimum setback distances for wind turbines and certain other issues incorporated in the Westmeath County Development Plan 2014-2020 as adopted by the elected members on 21 January 2014 . I am arranging to provide a copy of the correspondence to the Deputy.
