488. Deputy Dessie Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the assistance that will be made available to the residents and Dublin City Council to ensure the pyrite-affected houses in Carton and Ownesilla, Ballymun, Dublin 11 are repaired as soon as possible. In May 2013 my Department approved a budget of €392,077 in respect of pyrite testing and associated investigative works at houses in Carton Terrace and Owensilla. Based on the outcome of these tests, it will be a matter for Dublin City Council to put forward appropriate remediation proposals to deal with any pyrite-related problems affecting houses at these locations.
