601. Deputy Finian McGrath asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason for cuts to the single farm payment in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9521/14]

The applicant declared five commonage parcels. At an inspection in early 2013, three of the five parcels were deemed ineligible as they were not the subject of any agricultural activity. In these circumstances the reference areas of those three parcels was reduced to zero. This resulted in a reduced area of greater than 3%. Payment of SFP has issued to the person named on the basis of this reduced area.
