My Department is funding an on-going programme of accessibility improvement grants to upgrade existing public transport infrastructure and facilities. This programme is being managed by the National Transport Authority (NTA) on behalf of my Department. I understand that as part of this programme the NTA has undertaken an audit of bus stops and bus stations which is close to completion. The outcome of this audit will inform NTA's future proposals under this programme including the provision of additional wheelchair accessible bus routes.

Noting the NTA's responsibility in the matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the Authority for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you don't receive a reply within 10 working days.
