Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs the implications for agencies funded by her Department that fail to comply with consolidated public sector pay scales by continuing to make top-up payments to staff; when she expects this issue to be definitively resolved; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Government pay policy is clear that remuneration rates for public servants must be appropriately approved and sanctioned in advance of payment. Pay policy is underpinned by administrative and legislative requirements. I can confirm to the Deputy that staff employed in public service agencies under the aegis of my Department are paid in line with approved public sector pay scales.
