Deputy Timmy Dooley asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will provide a breakdown into categories of the number of crimes such as theft, anti-social behaviour and assaults, which occurred on the Luas Red and Green Lines in 2011, 2012 and 2013; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The safety and security of passengers and staff including arrangements to deal with anti-social behaviour on the Luas is a matter for the transport operator (Veolia) in conjunction, as appropriate, with the Gardaí. I have referred the Deputy's question to the Railway Procurement Agency, who have contracted Veolia to operate Luas services, for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
