229. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Social Protection the position regarding domiciliary care allowance in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11552/14]
View answerThe age limit for receipt of domiciliary care allowance (DCA) is 16 years. The person concerned stopped receiving DCA payments when the child reached the age of 16 years in July 2013. A letter issued in March 2013 advising that payment of the allowance was due to end in July 2013 and that the child could apply for disability allowance in his own right.
