Deputy Heather Humphreys asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the steps he has taken to set up a working group comprising officials from An Post, the Irish Postmasters' Union and Department officials to examine the future of the post office network; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to the reply to Priority Question No. 1 of 11 March. I have agreed to meet with the Irish Postmasters’ Union shortly to discuss the post office network. I have no plans to set up a working group in the manner proposed in the question.
