View answerThe Community Childcare Subvention (CCS) programme which is implemented by my Department provides funding to community childcare not-for-profit services to enable them to provide quality childcare at reduced rates to disadvantaged and low income working parents. The programme is also accessible to parents who have relatively average incomes on the basis of their entitlement to hold a GP visit card.
Community childcare services must be in contract with my Department in order to participate in the CCS programme. However, because of the current budgetary situation no new applications for entry into the CCS programme by service providers are being considered at this time.
