535. Deputy Billy Kelleher asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if she will outline her working relationship with the Adoption Authority of Ireland; the way she is kept up to date with its work-situation with the ICA; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16209/14]
View answerThe Adoption Authority of Ireland is an independent, quasi judicial body established under the Adoption Act 2010. The relationship between the Minister and the Adoption Authority of Ireland is provided for in the Adoption Act 2010 which outlines the obligations of the Authority in this regard. Matters relating tot he accountability, plans, reports and funding are dealt with in Sections 107 - 112 of the Act. On an administrative and operational level the Department of Children and Youth Affairs have regular and ongoing interaction with the Authority.
