130. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will provide a breakdown in tabular form of the number of juvenile liaison officers allocated to each district in the Dublin Metropolitan Region in the years 2012, 2013 and to date in 2014. [17036/14]
View answerAs the Deputy will appreciate, the Garda Commissioner is responsible for the distribution of personnel among the Garda Regions, Divisions, and Districts. Garda management keep this distribution under continuing review in the context of crime trends and policing priorities so as to ensure that the best possible use is made of these resources. I have however been informed by the Garda Commissioner that Juvenile Liaison Officers are allocated by Division not District. The number of Juvenile Liaison Officers allocated to each Garda Division in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (D.M.R.) on 31 December 2012 and 2013 and on 28 February 2014, the latest date for which figures are readily available, was as set out in the table below:
