574. Deputy Terence Flanagan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if there is a link up between his Department, An Garda Síochána and taxi authorities regarding combating crime against taxi drivers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19121/14]
View answerAn Garda Síochána engages regularly on crime prevention concerns with a wide range of stakeholders in the public service transport area and has provided relevant parties with advice and assistance with respect to crime prevention measures to enhance the personal safety of taxi drivers. I have sought an updated report from the Garda authorities in relation to these matters and will contact the Deputy again when it is to hand.
